Lobsters and Lighthouses

Left Freeport behind us (Don, Julie and I) about 9:25 after a breakfast buffet at the Harraseeket Inn and headed to Rockport via the Owlshead Transportation Museum. First stop was the Doubling Point Lighthouse.
The lighthouse was unexpectedly quaint and quite unique found at the end of an unpaved almost single lane dirt road through woods. The lighthouse keeper gave us a nice tour (small circular staircase up to the light itself) and lecture about the lighthouse's history.
Next was the Owls Head Transportation Museum and fresh LOBSTER! Dozens and dozens of Model As and one of the best museums I've seen. We wandered and chatted and enjoyed and then headed to the Island View Inn in Rockport, ME via ART.
Next the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockport which featured the artistry of Jamie and Andrew Wyeth and others. Wonderful.
The Island View Inn was a nice surprise .. very clean, great decor, super view of Glen Cove.

Sometimes ya gotta gas up!
